Services

The Shaftsbury Meditation Circle holds a weekly meditation and reading service every Sunday.  Our Sunday meditation service begins at 9:00 am with an opening prayer and devotional chant.  We have two periods of meditation of about 45 minutes, with a devotional chant at 10:00, and the meditation concludes at 10:50 am.  Our Inspirational Reading Service begins at 11:00.  These readings are direct from the writings and lectures of Paramahansa Yogananda, covering all aspects of how to live a balanced spiritual life and awaken to our oneness with the Infinite.  Silent group meditation is the main component of all Self-Realization Fellowship services.

“I’m not preaching a sermon; rather, I am teaching you how to know God.” – Paramahansa Yogananda

Bennington County is currently listed in the “Low community risk level” for Covid-19 transmission.  We do not currently require mask wearing at our meditations, yet we encourage those who feel safer wearing a mask to do so.  We ask that if you have any cold symptoms or have recently been with others who do, that you avoid coming to services until you are symptom-free or wouldn’t be contagious.  Thank you for your understanding.  Please visit the CDC by County website for more information.
